We are seeking a skilled Building Operations Technician to join our team in Kelowna. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining and optimizing our data center facility, ensuring it operates at peak performance levels. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with cutting-edge technology and contribute to the success of our clients' businesses.

Some of the key responsibilities you should expect are the following:

  • Conduct routine inspections of the data center facility to identify any issues or potential areas for improvement.

  • Perform preventive maintenance tasks on critical infrastructure components, including HVAC systems, electrical distribution systems, and fire suppression systems.

  • Monitor environmental conditions within the data center, such as temperature and humidity levels, and take appropriate actions to ensure optimal operating conditions.

  • Coordinate with vendors and contractors for equipment installations, repairs, and upgrades.

  • Respond promptly to facility-related alarms and incidents, troubleshoot issues, and implement corrective actions as necessary.

  •  Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and equipment inventory.

  • Assist in the implementation of security protocols and procedures to safeguard the facility and its assets.

  • Collaborate with other teams, such as network operations and customer support, to address customer inquiries and resolve issues in a timely manner.


  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical certifications or vocational training in a related field preferred.

  •  Proven experience in building operations, facilities maintenance, or a related field, with specific experience in data center environments highly desirable.

  • Strong understanding of HVAC, electrical, and mechanical systems, with the ability to troubleshoot and repair equipment as needed.

  • Familiarity with industry standards and regulations governing data center operations, such as Uptime Institute Tier Standards and ANSI/BICSI standards.

  •  Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, demonstrating initiative and resourcefulness.

  • Flexibility to work on a rotating schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as required.

Salary: $45,000 - $55,000 per year
